AiMCO Announces Leadership Change

The Audited Media Association of Australia (AMAA) Board has announced the departure of its long-standing CEO Josanne Ryan and the appointment of Patrick Whitnall into the newly created role of Managing Director.

Over the past three years, the AMAA has worked alongside the industry, to build a reliable, trustworthy, and knowledgeable industry body in the Australian Influencer Marketing Council (AiMCO) to support agencies, marketers, talent mangers, creators, and the many businesses within the creator marketing ecosystem.  Over this time, AiMCO has delivered global first initiatives with its AiMCO Code of Practice, industry guidance papers and established the AiMCO Awards and the AiMCO Accreditation program.

The appointment of a new MD is in recognition of the burgeoning influencer marketing arena and the forward plans for the next phase of growth of AiMCO.

Josanne Ryan, the current CEO of the AMAA and AiMCO, will step down and leave the organisation in mid-November.

Josanne Ryan said: “It has been a privilege to lead the AMAA and to work with so many great people from within the industry spanning publishing, the agencies, and other industry bodies. Launching AiMCO with so many talented, innovative people from within the influencer marketing sector has been a true highlight and I look forward to seeing AiMCO thrive and evolve in the future.”

Jason Tonelli, Chair of AMAA said: “For almost nine years, Josanne has led the AMAA with passion and integrity as a tireless advocate for our industry. We wish her the very best for her future endeavours.”

Patrick Whitnall was selected by the AMAA Board after a search for a new leader with the right credentials to further build AiMCO within the thriving influencer marketing sector.

The Board said: “Patrick stood out as the right choice to take AiMCO forward to the next level. Patrick is an accomplished leader; one that brings talent, creative expertise, drive, passion and an exciting vision for the business.“

Patrick Whitnall said: “Having been part of the launch of AiMCO, creating the awards program, and serving as Co-Deputy Chair for a number of years, it is a great honour to be asked to take on the role of MD at AiMCO. Our awards this year are set to be the biggest yet, and the accreditation program is building and receiving amazing feedback from the attendee cohort and industry.
