A lot of creators today look to use their content to destigmatise conversations about mental health and help others by sharing their own experiences. Often though, they can find themselves being overwhelmed by requests for support, starting unsafe conversations amongst young people, or feeling triggered themselves by what they’ve shared.
The #chatsafe guidelines have been put together by the world-leading self-harm and suicide researchers at Orygen. Their advice supports creators to have safe online conversations on these topics, and to create content that encourages help-seeking and recovery.
Join us with #chatsafe Research Fellow Dr Louise La Sala, and creator Alessia, of @tazandalessia. Where Dr La Sala will share the core pillars of the #chatsafe guidelines, and how to use them to support safe content creation. Alessia will speak to her experience of creating content relating to self-harm and suicide, and how she and Taz have created safe and supportive content by reflecting the #chatsafe advice.
